Gone for Good!

After Charles was re-arrested, he was sentenced to death which hurt me deeply. I tried again to get him freed, but they would not let him go this time. This gave me the urge to go back to my shoes and do what I know how to do.  Since my tools and work bench were destroyed, I had nothing to do but think about it. Then a great man, Sydney Carton, decided to replace himself with Charles Darnay so that he can live. This meant a great deal to me because it meant that my daughter would be happy. Sydney drugged Charles, so that he could not protest, and traded him clothes. Once we got Charles back, Sydney stayed in the jail to be put to death instead of Charles. We did not see in, but God Bless Sydney Cartons soul for doing this great deed to Charles and his family. We then left France and all of the fighting and the killing to go to England and live the rest of our lives in peace. I will be a grandpa to Lucie’s daughter and a father to both Charles and Lucie. We will live in England in peace from now on.

Back to France!

I had gone to England to escape the revolution and keep out lives safe. I then got word that Charles Darnay, my son-in-law, had been imprisoned. I can only imagine that this is because of his royal blood and that he has been discovered. This is what I feared and I will not let my daughter loose her husband. She has helped me with my mental condition and now it is time to re pay her and safe her husband. Since I was in the Bastille, I will be able to use that to convince people to let him go. He is an innocent man who did not pursue a life of evil royalty. He is a good man who deserves to be let free and I will fight to free him. When I made it to France, he was still in prison and I had to talk to the revolutionary leaders to free him. I told them that Charles was a good man who chose not to pursue the way of the corrupt royalty. After long conversations and debates, I was able to convince them to let Charles come home to Lucie. This made me very happy and relieved.

I bE cRazY!!

After my daughter's wedding, my son-in-law, Charles Darnay, shared the information of his true identity as promised. He was going to tell me earlier, but I would not let him until after the wedding. It hit me like a brick wall, he told me that he was of royalty and has the blood of the upper class. This means that he could be executed in the revolution because of his blood regardless of his chosen lifestyle. This new knowledge gave me the urge to work like I used to in my younger years. I just needed to work, it’s what I know and it will make things better. Jarvis Lorry and Miss Pross have been trying to keep me from working and eventually they wore me down and got me to agree to go on a second honey moon with Lucie and Charles. It was a good trip for me, got me out of my house and got me away from it all. When I came back, I found out that Lorry and Miss Pross have destroyed my tools and work bench so I can no longer work on shoes. It may be better for me seeing that I am feeling better now.

Released from Prison!

Today was my last day in prison after a long seventeen years. It has been a long, lonely time sitting there, but it's finally over. I finally got to see my daughter Lucie; she has grown up so much. I almost lost my mind, being alone for such a lone time took its toll. You never know how much of a luxury until they are gone. I missed good food, warm bed, friends, family, and pretty much every aspect of normal life. It was actually hard for me to sleep on my own bed because I am so used to the hard cold ground. I think it will take me a few weeks to get used to this. To some people it may not be much, but a warm home and warm food every day is like being in heaven for me. Everybody is happy to see me home after being falsely accused and put into prison. They look up to me as a revolutionary figure against the upper class. I am honored, but I must spend my time at home with my family and my work bench. I would like to have peace at home with those who love me.
